Le Gray Hotel: a reflection of Beirut in all its beauty

Le Gray needs no introduction. This modern luxury boutique hotel has set new standards for hospitality in Lebanon ever since its inception in the capital. BelleBeirut tells you all there is to know about this new landmark located in the heart of Beirut’s central district.

“We believe that luxury is never in showing things or trying to give a certain feel, it is in the comfort that you can offer to the guest”: this is how Rita Saad, Le Gray’s Public Relations manager, describes the hotels’ understanding of luxury.

A definition that is without a doubt a reflection of the unique experience of staying at Le Gray, Beirut’s trendiest boutique hotel.

“Whenever you want to choose a hotel, there is something that you are looking for, be it the value or the location or the mood you want to be in when you visit a country. Le Gray is a combination of these three components”, says Mrs Saad in an interview with BelleBeirut.

At Le Gray Beirut, you get the feeling of staying in the comfort of your own home, even though you are away from home. And nothing beats living in a five star hotel you can call home while “enjoying the benefits of great service, a perfect location and an amazing atmosphere”.

Located at the meeting point between Martyr’s square and the entrance to down town Beirut, Le Gray is definitely one of the most “practical” hotels in the region. “It is at the center of everything. It allows the business man to conduct his business efficiently because it is close to the business district and the bank street. It also allows the leisure traveler to do the shopping and enjoy the entertainment as well as the cultural discovery of the city by foot.”

Facilities:

With 87 rooms and suites, Le Gray is designed to cater to the desires of all its clients. The rooms are divided into 5 main categories : Deluxe rooms, premium rooms, executive suites, corner suites and presidential suites. “Some of these categories have terraces if they are located on the top floor”, explains Mrs. Saad.

The rooms are very large and spacious compared to international standards. “They are known to be the largest in Beirut, the smallest room in the hotel is about 40 sq. meters”, adds Le Gray’s PR manager.
“Space is a main luxury treat these days, especially for the European clientele”, she adds.

Put down your luggage, have a tour inside the hotel and then start by exploring the city.

The rooms are equipped with the basics found at any five star hotel including a free internet connection, and a desk with a multiplug station to connect all the client’s devices (Ipods, Ipads, Laptops, smartphones…).

Le Gray has one of the most knowledgeable and friendly concierge service in town. “Our head concierge is a member of the Clé d’or”, adds Mrs. Saad.

Restaurants and Cuisine

The hotel’s main restaurant is Indigo on the roof, it serves breakfast, lunch and dinner. It has a beautiful terrace, which allows clients to enjoy an indoor or outdoor dining experience with an amazing view of the city. This restaurant closes between services.

Gordon’s café is Le Gray’s restaurant located on the street floor. It is open all day (8am-11pm) and is great for a quick meal in between business meetings or for a coffee in between shopping sprees.

On our sixth floor, “the happening floor”, there is the cigar lounge which is a very nice place to sit back and relax.

This floor also has the breathtaking pool lounge, just next to the unique rooftop pool which is exclusively reserved to the hotel guests and the spa members.
“The pool lounge serves the guests of the pool, it looks a bit like a Beirut. In the morning it is a pool lounge and in the evening it wears its night attire and becomes a rooftop bar. It has a different entertainment program on a daily basis, a different music genre, everyday of the week. It has very nice bites to share and exquisite drinks as well,” says Mrs. Saad.

The hotel’s main attraction, Bar 360 is located on the seventh floor, on the top part of Le Gray Beirut’s atrium which is the center piece of the hotel. It offers a unique 360 degree view of the city and its surrounding, “it is something very special, you have to be there to believe it”.

All of Le Gray’s restaurants offer an International cuisine with a Mediterranean twist. “The good thing about it is that there is no outlet that looks like the other, you cannot compare them, the most important is that everyone offers a specific mood for a specific time of the day.”

Spa and services
Le Gray has a very unique spa in the sense that is a combination of European and eastern philosophies. “Our day spa is a heaven of peace inside the buzzing city of Beirut,” says Rita Saad.

The spa has the European look and feel and style but it has the holistic eastern approach of any spa and wellness center.

There are six treatment rooms for massages, body treatment and facials. Only natural products are used in the spa.

Activities

Since its opening back in 2009, Le Gray Beirut has organized unique and extravagant events in the city. Art is very important at Le Gray, there are more than 550 pieces of art in the hotel ranging from paintings to sculptures. Some were created especially for the hotel by Lebanese and international artists.

In 2013, Le Gray was a partner at the Beirut art fair and the Beirut design week. The hotel also hosted social events such as Ivysbigreveal.
