Range Rover Premieres the SVAutobiography Dynamic and SVR in Dubai

The global premieres of two very special Range Rovers – the Range Rover SVAutobiography Dynamic and the Range Rover Sport SVR – took place today on the Jaguar Land Rover stand at the 2017 Dubai International Motor Show, to the surprise and delight of a rapt audience of media representatives and show goers.

The new 2018 Range Rover SVAutobiography Dynamic and Range Rover Sport SVR were seen publicly in the flesh for the first time in the world at the Middle East’s most important automotive showcase event, with each benefiting from significant upgrades and enhancements over its predecessor model. The location for the worldwide launch of the two vehicles was deliberate. The Middle East is a particularly strong market for Jaguar Land Rover’s Special Vehicles Operations (SVO) division and Range Rover brand, with buyers appreciating the unparalleled blend of sumptuous hand-crafted luxury, scintillating on-road performance and superb off-road capability.

Building on the success of the now firmly established SVAutobiography Dynamic and SVR nameplates, both of these derivatives of Range Rover and Range Rover Sport models elevate their respective vehicle lines to previously unseen levels of refinement and performance.

As products of Jaguar Land Rover’s SVO division, the newcomers will be exclusively produced with a range of exterior and interior colour palette choices, styling and equipment options for customers to select from.

“As the owner of a Range Rover you are already in an exclusive club,” said Bruce Robertson, Managing Director of Jaguar Land Rover MENA. “With the Range Rover SVAutobiography Dynamic and Range Rover Sport SVR from our SVO division, new owners will be entering even more rarefied territory and truly reaching the very pinnacles of comfort and performance in the luxury SUV segment.”

Range Rover Sport SVR

In the case of the new Range Rover Sport SVR, that performance will come courtesy of the marque’s well-proven 5.0-litre V8 petrol engine which has been uprated to produce 575PS and 700Nm of torque. The net result of this power uplift when combined with 26kg of weight saving measures is a 0 – 100km/h acceleration time of 4.5 seconds and a maximum speed of 283km/h.

Dealing with this type of power requires a very specialised chassis set up, hence modifications that provide a more dynamic steering and handling experience for the driver. With less pitching during acceleration and braking, improved turn in and greater mid corner grip, the enhancements ultimately deliver greater body control in the most demanding driving scenarios. The driving experience is also improved sonically through enhanced powertrain exhaust sound quality. A new feature, Active Exhaust Control, utilises a pulse width modulation signal to control exhaust valves providing a more varied and progressive range of exhaust sound characteristics.

The 2018 Range Rover Sport SVR’s enhancements are not limited to performance, however. Dramatic exterior changes include a unique bonnet design in carbon fibre composite with integrated air vents as well as revised profiles for both the front and rear bumpers. The SVR Carbon Fibre Exterior Pack accentuates the performance-oriented nature of the vehicle and includes an exposed gloss carbon fibre bonnet centre section

Interior enhancements include SVR lightweight performance seats in Windsor leather with new duo-tone seat design, climate front and rear seats with front and rear cooling options and a unique SVR steering wheel featuring stitching which is chosen to contrast the specified interior colour.

Range Rover SV Autobiography Dynamic

The SVAutobiography Dynamic raises the stakes in terms of comfort and exclusivity whilst also improving its performance. The power output derived from its 5.0-litre Supercharged V8 petrol engine is raised to 565PS. Corresponding chassis calibrations will make the most of this increase while enhancing the benefits of the comfort driving mode found on core Range Rover models.

Once inside the new Range Rover SVAutobiography Dynamic, evidence of the vehicle’s exclusivity abounds. The new ‘Executive Class’ seat transforms the accommodation in the rear of the vehicle, and features Diamond Quilted Perforated Semi-Aniline Leather trim.

The interior is available in four colourways – Ebony/Ebony, Ebony/Pimento, Ebony Cirrus and Ebony/Vintage Tan. These are complemented by two veneer choices – Steel Weave Carbon Fibre or Grand Black as a no cost option, with finishers in Dark Brushed Aluminium.

Further interior enhancements include leather wrapped pillar lowers, exclusive SVAutobiography-branded illuminated tread plates, front centre console plate featuring SVAutobiography logo and SVAutobiography quilted owner’s manual cover to match seat style.

The unique SVAutobiography grille style with chrome inserts and mesh finish, the front bumper accent and lower intake finishers and the side and rear accents are all finished in distinctive Graphite Atlas. The modified rear bumper with integrated metal tailpipe finishers is also new.

Bruce Robertson added: “We at Jaguar Land Rover know how much our Middle East customers value that very rare combination of high performance, ultra-luxury and genuine exclusivity in a vehicle. In both the astonishingly quick 2018 Range Rover Sport SVR and the supremely opulent 2018 Range Rover SVAutobiography Dynamic they will find these highly prized characteristics in abundance. Choosing one over the other may be the most difficult choice a Range Rover owner may ever have to make!”

And as if these world premieres did not provide reason enough to visit the Jaguar Land Rover stand at the 2017 Dubai International Motor Show, the revised core Range Rover and Range Rover Sport models for 2018 will also be making their regional debuts at the event.
