MBK Expo, the largest family event in Saudi Arabia and the premier destination for mothers-to-be, parents and children of all ages, will arrive in Riyadh from 21st to 23rd October.
It is the first time the capital will host the event following overwhelming visitor demand for a Riyadh-based show during the last two editions of MBK Expo Jeddah.
The event will take place at the Riyadh International Convention & Exhibition Centre under the patronage of the Saudi Ministry of Health, which has identified the development of mothers and families as a national priority.
Saudi Arabia’s rapid population growth, the fastest of all the GCC countries, has brought this sector of society into focus. With 22,690 babies born every year, Saudi Arabia is the world’s leading importer of mother and baby products, a market which analysts predict will reach a staggering US$2,100 billion by 2027.
“The government recognizes that the wellbeing of mothers and families is crucial to the Kingdom’s societal and economic development. With the support of the Ministry of Health, MBK Expo will provide access to the latest information, advice and products to help empower these families to make better decisions and choices,” said Manna Aljabarti, Group Marketing Manager from event organiser Reed Sunaidi Exhibitions.
Set to be bigger and better than ever, MBK Expo Riyadh will offer something for every member of the family. Visitors will find a full showcase of all the leading family brands plus educational seminars and clinics, fun entertainment and cooking competitions.
Confirmed exhibitors include Hyproca Nutrition Middle East, Jamjoom Pharma, Sparks Academy, Sudocreme, Al Hilal Trading (Nuby), FrieslandCampina, among others. Returning for its third consecutive MBK Expo is Almarai who will be showcasing its range of infant formula and award-winning dairy products, as well as hosting nutritional advice clinics on each day of the show.
Returning for her second MBK Expo appearance is the world’s most famous nanny and global parenting expert Jo Frost. Author of seven parenting books, Frost will host exclusive seminars during the expo where she will answer audience questions and discuss her proven methods on child behavioural development, sleep issues, healthy eating and cultural changes in families.
“I was really encouraged by my first visit to Saudi Arabia in February this year and the response I received at MBK Expo Jeddah. Saudi families have really engaged with my S.O.S theory for child behavioural development—Step Back, Observe, Step In—and I’m looking forward to sharing this approach with even more people at MBK Expo Riyadh,” said Frost.
Event organiser Reed Sunaidi Exhibitions says bringing MBK Expo to Riyadh makes sense from both a business and community perspective.
“Riyadh is the capital of Saudi Arabia and the largest city in the Kingdom. It is also facing rapid population growth and so the focus on the family unit has become increasingly important. MBK Expo will help connect businesses to this lucrative market opportunity while bringing sought-after advice and products to local families. We expect some 15,000 families and trade visitors to attend the show in October,” said Simon Blazeby, Head of Exhibitions at Reed Sunaidi Exhibitions.
MBK Expo Riyadh will open from 4pm to 11pm on 21st to 23rd October, 2014 at the Riyadh International Convention & Exhibition Centre. For ticket and programme information visit www.mbkexpo.com.
