Accessorizing can change your whole outfit; it can make a full outfit everything it is not, in one bold twist.
FW14 accessories (Fall-Winter 2014) are everything but understated; the exact kind of accessories that can actually change an outfit.
When it comes to me, I like to divide my accessories into 4 different categories in which FW14 accessories fit well:
-The Metallics: I put in this category all the accessories that feature nothing but metallic colors and shades; the silver, the gold and the rose gold (as well as every single metallic shade). This category is usually the most versatile and its pieces fit well with each other. If I don’t know what kind of accessories to wear with a certain outfit, I’ll go straight with matchy matchy metallics. A quick fix.
-The Colorful: Obviously, these are the colored bold accessories that need the most effort in styling. I use the one color accessories in a matchy matchy fashion in relation to each other but in contrast with the outfit’s colors; and the multi-colored ones with dark outfits and one-color outfits.
-The Dark: I categorize in this compartment all my bold accessories with dark shades of black and navy. Always bold and oversized; these dark accessories also can fit all. Another versatile choice after the optimal metallics. I tend to avoid them though with dark outfits; going this much in-line is not stylish to me unless I am in a vampire mode.
-The Special: These are usually the ones with a very special design, special colors or combinations (but often design). These are the accessories I always pack in a separate place because I rarely wear more than a piece at a time to allow the special design to stand out. I also usually prefer styling these special items with simple outfits.
