Colombian-Lebanese singer Shakira gave birth on January 22nd to a baby boy, Milan, here are five things you (probably) didn’t know about the lovely little boy.
Milan Piqué Mebarak, the first son of Shakira and her soccer star boyfriend Gerard Piqué is without a doubt one of the most tweeted about, posted about and written about unborn child of our modern times.
Shakira and Piqué frequently posted pictures and talked about the pregnancy, they even made pranks about the birth of their son and shared pictures of him in the womb. The Lebanese singer even dedicated her baby shower to charity.
A few days ago, the couple posted the first complete photo of the baby boy, who appears with his father, in an image posted on the couple’s Unicef web site.
Despite all this media attention, we bet you there are still some details you did not know about the young star-to be. Here they are:
Emotions
Shakira cried holding her baby for the first time, and she “became very emotional”, her mother said at the clinic where the singer gave birth to son Milan.
Slavic-Sanskrit name
“Milan (pronounced MEE-lahn) means dear, loving and gracious in Slavic; in Ancient Roman, eager and laborious, and in Sanskrit, unification,” the star said in a statement posted on her website.
Brothers and sisters
A source close to Shakira has recently revealed that she and Piqué are already planning for a sibling for little Milan.
No male doctors
Shakira reportedly asked that only female doctors and female nurses attend the delivery of her baby boy which took place in a Barcelona clinic.
Very calm
Milan is a “beautiful boy” who “doesn’t cry a lot”, said Nidia Ripoll, the mother of Shakira.
