Valerie Abou Chacra, 23, was handed on Monday the Miss Lebanon 2015 crown from her predecessor Sally Goreige, Miss Lebanon 2014.
Abou Chacra, a Communication Arts major at the Lebanese American University, impressed the nine judges and beat out 13 other contestants who took part in the competition.
The judges included fashion designer Zuhair Murad, actress and Miss Lebanon 2007 Nadine N. Njeim, Miss France 2012 Delphine Wespiser, Editor-in-Chief of L’Orient Le Jour newspaper, Ziyad Makhoul and other prominent figures.
Contestants wore evening gowns from Murad’s 2015-2016 Fall/Winter collection with the new Miss Lebanon styled in a white and silver sequin embroidered dress.
Jocelyne Mosleh and Cynthia Samuel were chosen first runners-up, Nour Nasrallah took the third place while Maria Tannous came fourth, with no second runner-up.
