Former Miss Lebanon runner-up Nour Danno reaches the final round of PETA’s Sexiest Vegan Next Door

PETA US is preparing to crown this year’s Sexiest Vegan Next Door – and former Miss Lebanon runner-up Nour Danno has beaten out hundreds of other entrants from across the US to advance to the final round of 20 contestants. Visitors to PETA.org can now help PETA US select the two winners, who will each receive a free holiday for two to Hawaii, courtesy of Humane Travel.

Danno moved to the US state of Michigan last summer from Lebanon, where she studied nutrition and physical education at Notre Dame University–Louaize; was a runner-up in the 2015 Miss Lebanon pageant; and worked as a reporter and newsreader for LBCI TV. Now, she shares vegan nutrition and workout tips with her hundreds of thousands of Instagram followers and is hard at work on a book about vegan nutrition and animal rights. Her example – and her dedication to cooking delicious animal-free twists on traditional Lebanese dishes – has inspired her family members, including her father and her husband, to go vegan.

“Everybody is born for a reason, and I believe I was born to help people improve their health and save animals’ lives,” she says.

“Nour Danno’s huge heart for animals has inspired her to dedicate her career to vegan nutrition and animal rights,” says PETA US Executive Vice President Tracy Reiman. “All the finalists in PETA’s Sexiest Vegan Next Door contest prove that there’s nothing sexier than striving to make the world a kinder place.”

Voting to help PETA US determine which finalists it should select as the winners ends at 12 noon EDT on 13 May. The winners – who will be selected based on several factors, including vote count – will be announced on 20 May. This is the first year that the contest is gender-neutral. PETA – whose motto reads, in part, that “animals are not ours to eat” – opposes speciesism, which is a human-supremacist worldview. For more information, please visit PETAAsia.com.
