Gabriela Isler, Miss Venezuela, was chosen amongst 86 contestants to win the Miss Universe 2013 title, which was held on Saturday in Russia.
“I have a lot of emotions. I can’t describe all the things that I feel at this moment because I’m shaking,” said Isler, a Venezuelan TV host, with the diamond crown resting on her head.
This marks the seventh contest win for the South American country, a victory which was immediately celebrated by Venezuelan president Nicolas Maduro on his twitter account.
This is a “triumph for Venezuela”, he said.

In her mini-biography on the Miss Universe official website, it is said that Isler “started taking flamenco dancing lessons when she was a child”.
The 25 year old loves taking care of her niece, and “even considers herself a second mother to the child”, which is why she considers motherhood the hardest profession in life.
Miss Lebanon, Karen Ghrawi, unfortunately did not make it to the final round this year.
