Perla Helou was crowned Miss Lebanon 2017 on Sunday during a ceremony held at Casino du Liban, north of Beirut.
The 22-year-old from Baabda will represent Lebanon in the Miss World pageant in Sanya, China on November 18.
She is currently studying for a masters at the Ecole superieure des Affaires (ESA) in Beirut, and earned her Bachelor in Business Administration from the Saint-Joseph University (USJ) in Beirut.
“This is the best moment in my life, thanks for everyone who supported me,” Helou said in a post on Instagram. “What a moment. My heart was beating faster than a train.”
Jana Sader was first runner-up in the competition, ahead of Reem Khoury, who was the second runner-up.
The event was broadcast on LBCI and presented by journalist Dima Sadek. The jury was composed of renowned Lebanese and international personalities, including: Fadi El Khatib, Maguy Farah, Joëlle Behlok and Ibrahim Maalouf.
