Shakira and Gerard Pique welcomed on Tuesday night their first child, Milan Pique Mebarak.

Later, the couple announced the birth of their son on Shakira’s official website. “We are happy to announce the birth of Milan Pique Mebarak, son of Shakira Mebarak and Gerard Pique, born on January 22nd at 9:36 pm”.
“The name Milan (pronounced MEE-lahn), means dear, loving and gracious in Slavic; in Ancient Roman, eager and laborious; and in Sanskrit, unification”, said the couple in a statement.
Just like his father, baby Milan became a member of FC Barcelona at birth.
The hospital confirmed that the couple’s first child weighed approximately 6lbs. 6 ounces, and that both mother and child are in excellent health.
During her pregnancy, Shakira frequently tweeted pictures and gave details about the lead up to the birth of her first son.
In December, her soccer star boyfriend Gerard Pique pulled off a prank by announcing the birth of their son earlier than expected.
Last week, she decided to host an online baby shower for charity and posted an intimate photo to promote the event.
