Miss Lebanon 2022, Yasmina Zaytoun, is representing her homeland at the upcoming Miss Universe competition which will be held on Saturday 14 January 2023 in New Orleans, Louisiana. This pageant is the largest and most watched beauty pageant in the world, with around 90 countries participating.
Some videos began circulating on Social Media these past few days, showing the contestants in special dresses representing their country. Yasmina Zaytoun wore a dress representing the cedar tree, which stands for Lebanon’s resilience.
Miss Lebanon’s formal dress was designed by renowned Lebanese Designer Charbel Zoé, who often collaborates with international super stars such as Jennifer Lopez, Shakira and many others.
Yasmina Zaytoun is a great example of how beauty pageants can help to break down barriers. She is a 20-year-old student studying journalism and has a TV presenter certification from the Al Jazeera Media Institute in Qatar. She is using her newfound platform to represent her culture and heritage in a positive light.
