Beirut Bike Festival roars into Beirut Waterfront

Beirut’s biking community is readying its riding gear as the Beirut Bike Festival roars into town from September 19th to the 21st 2014 at the Beirut Waterfront, under the umbrella of the Motorcycle & Touring Club of Lebanon.

The three-day festival, held on Friday 4 to 10pm – Saturday from 10am to 9pm and Sunday from 10am to 4pm, will see global motorcycle brands including Harley-Davidson, BMW, Ducati, KTM, Aprillia, MV Augusta, Piaggio, Kawasaki, and others out in force in Beirut. Gargour Automotive Company, the only authorized distributor of Jeep® in Lebanon, will also be part of the event, revealing an exclusive Jeep® Wrangler Harley-Davidson Limited Edition.

“The Beirut Bike Festival’s spirit of inclusivity is its most important attribute. All bikers are welcome to this celebration of riding culture. It’s not just for bikers though – we have a packed schedule of music, entertainment and shows for non-riding friends and family. It’s a great day out, with a chance to see some fantastic motorcycles in action,” said Marwan Tarraf, Managing Director of Harley-Davidson Beirut.

Three charged days will see audiences and participants enthralled by new motorcycle models’ releases, bike games, bike challenges, live bands, motorcycle stunt shows, live street art painting shows by famous artist ASHEKMAN on the Jeep® Wrangler and a custom bike contest. Swap meets, collectibles, dealers and vendors will add to a festival itinerary that culminates in a roaring Thunder Parade on Sunday, September the 21st, at 11 am. The Parade is being held in partnership with the Lebanese Internal Security Force (ISF) and all major motorcycle clubs and groups.

“Apart from bringing our community of riders together, the Thunder Parade also salutes the efforts of the local Lebanese police in securing road safety and increasing awareness; In addition to educating people and encouraging them to respect bikers on the road, we want to tell people that safely sharing our roads with bikers improves the flow of traffic and this is in partnership with Internal Local Security Forces in Beirut” Tarraf added.

The massive Thunder Parade will be headed by 50 Harley police bikes and the Jeep® Wrangler special edition customised for Harley-Davidson.

For Harley-Davidson Beirut, the Beirut Bike Festival is an excellent platform to encourage a sense of community. “Harley-Davidson Motor Company is looking forward to spending time with its rider family in Lebanon. Such events are a great way of creating the camaraderie and spirit that fuels every Harley-Davidson motorcycle,” said Elsa Abi Nader, Regional Marketing Manager at Harley-Davidson MENA regional office.
