Walking into the Radisson Blu Hotel Beirut Verdun is like stepping into a home away from home, where everything you desire is at the touch of a button, and where all of Beirut’s attractions are a few minutes away.

If you have been to Verdun before, you definitely have seen the landmark Dunes center, which is located in the heart of the region’s prestigious shopping and business area. This excellent location now houses the Radisson Blu Hotel Beirut Verdun.

The hotel’s lobby and welcome area is conveniently situated on the center’s ground floor, next to world-renowned shops. Inside, the Blu touch is reflected throughout the entryways, through the ambiance, and of course the interior design of the hotel. The rooms, along with the business lounges and the 377 square meter ballroom, the fitness center and the spa were refurbished when the hotel reopened as Radisson Blu Hotel Beirut Verdun in November 2017. The exterior of the hotel, a landmark that opened in the 1990s, was mostly left intact during the extensive renovation.

Location

What sets the Radisson Blu Hotel Beirut Verdun apart from the neighboring competition, is the fact that it is an easy walk away to many of the city’s high points: across the street from the newly opened ABC Verdun Mall, the country’s largest mall development; Five minutes from the city’s famous corniche Ramlet El Bayda; Ten minutes from Beirut’s historical Hamra street; While the capital’s downtown area, including the National Museum, the city’s historical ruins, and Martyrs’ square are just a 10-minute drive away.

The Room

We stayed in a business class room located on the fifth floor, a perfect choice for a small family, a couple or even a lonely traveler. The room offers ample space around a very comfortable king-size bed. The contemporary décor was warm, sophisticated and comfortable. We absolutely loved the nightstand extension on either side of the bed, which offers additional seating space. A modern and comfy chair along with a round table and mini-desk earned the room extra style points. A medium-sized flat-screen TV with access to the Blu brand’s internal channels and very informative system rounded out the offerings. The mini-bar was complete with anything you might wish for, whereas the complimentary tea and coffee are perfect after a long trip.

The Bathroom

The spacious and crystal clean bathroom definitely won us over and is a big plus. The sink is wide and offers lots of space, whereas the full-size bathtub is just perfect. The Blu brand really takes it up a notch by encouraging guests to save water and reuse their towels. I thought this was a great initiative especially in a country where respecting the environment is an overly ignored obligation.

Amenities

The free Wi-Fi throughout the hotel was a big plus, and definitely a requirement nowadays. The gym was impressively equipped with several machines. Although the spa is yet to open, it certainly looks like it will offer some much-needed services. Radisson Blu’s informative television system is something you should take the time to discover because it really serves like a tourist guide. Also, Radisson Blu’s One Touch service allows you to ask for literally anything by touching the blue button on the room’s phone. Valet parking is available, and the staff are extremely helpful, friendly and go out of their way to make sure you have an excellent stay.

Dining and Breakfast

The in-room dining menu is really diverse offering international, Japanese, and local Lebanese cuisine to choose from. We opted for some Lebanese Mezze aside some delicious sushi and a lentil soup. Room service delivered it in a prompt 20 minutes. The hotel has three other dining options, including The Cook House, a restaurant that serves a varied international cuisine, and a super breakfast buffet in a sophisticated setting; the business lounge offering snacks and caffeine fixes; and The Shogun Lounge which provides delicious Japanese food. You may also opt for the food court on the lower floors of the Dunes center and end the night at the movie theaters!

Verdict

The Radisson Blu Hotel Beirut Verdun located inside a landmark building at the very center of a busy cosmopolitan area is a great hub from which to explore all of Beirut, and is an excellent choice for a business hotel or a family stay. Highly recommended by BelleBeirut!
