Swarovski unveiled its iconic tiara, for the Vienna Opera Ball, celebrating 70 years of illuminating Austria’s most glamorous evening. Worn by debutantes since 1956, the iconic tiara is joined for the first time by a matching tie pin, uniting debutantes and their partners in sparkling harmony as they step into the Vienna State Opera on February 27, 2025.
Designed by Swarovski’s Global Creative Director, Giovanna Engelbert, the tiara and tie pin draw inspiration from the brand’s Hyperbola Infinity collection and its iconic swan motif. Featuring loops that evoke feathers and a gently suspended center stone, these pieces blend timeless elegance with a modern touch. Swarovski’s artisans hand-set 233 zirconia and crystal stones into each tiara, while the tie pin boasts 113 stones, symbolizing grace and unity.
As Swarovski celebrates 130 years of craftsmanship, CEO Alexis Nasard highlights the enduring partnership between the Austrian House and the Vienna Opera Ball, calling the tiara a “touch of magic” that enhances the ball’s romantic allure. This year’s diadem will be on display alongside the matching pin at the Swarovski Kristallwelten Store in Vienna from January 17 to March 8, 2025.
